After the referrals is received, a criminal history check is conducted by the District Attorney General’s Office. An interview and drug/alcohol assessment is then conducted if the criminal history check shows no disqualifying charges or convictions. Upon completion of the interview and assessment, all information is presented to the drug court team who then determine with the individual is an appropriate candidate and is properly motivated for change. Once the team approves and individual, they are then placed into the drug recovery court program by the Criminal Court Judge.
